Superman on the ABC Television Network
During the final season of the Adventures of Superman, the show aired on the ABC TV Network. In our area, we could receive two channels at the time. They were WFMY 2 (CBS) from Greensboro, NC and WSJS 12 (NBC) from Winston-Salem, NC. These two stations worked ABC programming into their schedules whenever they could. Beginning on Monday September 30, 1957 at 5:00 p.m., WSJS 12 started airing the Adventures of Superman from the ABC network. The last episode aired on Monday September 22, 1958 on WSJS 12. This ABC run is my first memories of the Superman tv show as a 4 year old.

January 22, 1960 on WDBJ 7 in Roanoke, VA
During the 1960's, my two brothers and I were able see about the first 15 minutes of Top O' The Morning before had to catch the school bus. Some of the best music ever. The host, Irv Sharp, would sometimes join Don Reno and Red Smiley on his piano.
September 21, 1959 on WDBJ 7 in Roanoke, VA
When we found that we were able to receive this channel in January 1962, my brothers and I would watch this show when school was closed for snow. We also got to see it some during the summer if it was raining enough to keep us out of the fields on our farm. The show was hosted by Irv Sharp who also hosted Top O' The Morning earlier each weekday.

Mr. Doohickey's Rocket on WFBC in 1964
Mr. Doohickey ( Stowe Hoyle ) was an inventor of many gadgets and gizmos. On February 19, 1964 Mr. Doohickey announced to host Monty DuPuy his plans to build a new type of transportation. It was later revealed that Mr. Doohickey's new ride was a Rocket which was 20 feet long. During the Monday February 24, 1964 episode, Monty DuPuy kidded Mr. Doohickey about his Doohickey Scope and Magic Space Window. The kids in the studio audience and viewing at home got to see the progress Mr. Doohickey was making on the Rocket for about six weeks. On Wednesday March 24 Mr. Doohickey made his first try for a take-off. He finally took off on Thursday March 26 and returned to earth in his rocket on Monday March 30, 1964. Oh the days of kids local studio tv shows. *Note: The show was known as "Monty and the Mickey Mouse Club" or "Monty and the M M Club" from September 10, 1962 until January 18, 1965.
